Saosin

La voix est bizarre ouais, un peu en demi-teinte.
Mais y a pas mal de scream parts sur cet EP, alors qu'il n'y en avait aucune sur l'album.

Coup de coeur pour Keep Secrets surtout, et Love Maker.

Why Can't You See est plus déroutante mais vraiment catchy.

Et le retour des screams, je cautionne à fond. J'adore dans l'ensemble.

ca fait du bien de voir les "pionniers" du genre (pionniers entre très gros guillemets hein) revenir aux cris. A croire qu'ils ont pigé que finalement si, ca apportait beaucoup à leur musique.

[edit] Putain cet EP est absolument énorme, Love Maker est certainement une de leurs meilleures songs tous albums confondus, j'adore le break (pfiouuuu ce break)!!!! Cove trouve enfin sa place je trouve, et marque le coup, bcp plus que sur le debut album. Bref c'est immense.

Mouais, j'aurais préféré que Beau s'en occupe comme pour le Grey EP.

J'avais pas vu ton edit, mais en gros tu dis exactement ce que je dis dans ma chronique de l'album (à part que ma préférée à moi c'est Keep Secrets).

Je reste perplexe.
Howard Benson était parfait pour eux et excelle surtout dans les voix (et Cove en a besoin...).

Là... j'espere que Beau va "co-produire" l'album sinon ça risque d'etre.... mou ?
Même si les nouvelles compos montrent qu'ils auraient plutôt tendance à durcir un peu le son.

Les 3 chansons du Grey EP seront sur l'album. Keep Secrets a été renommée Secrets : les refrains ont été changés, la partie scream est identique.

Deux nouvelles chansons :
- Firefly est une chanson de 8 minutes, un "8 minutes jam" selon Cove.
- The Alarming Sound of a Still Small Voice.
I feel those 2 songs when you listen to them they take you from point A to point B. When you look back from point B you’re like “Yes. That was awesome. That was a trip.”

Sinon les deux chansons mises en dl sur leur site : Is This Real? et On My Own, qui est la nouvelle version de Uphill Battle présente sur les démos Capitol.

Butch Walker a bossé sur les 5 premières chansons, mais le groupe a dépassé le délai d'un mois fixé avec lui car ils ont voulu prendre leur temps et Butch était déjà booké pour autre chose, donc d'autres producteurs se sont succédés : John Feldman et Lucas de la Matt Squire Team. Une des difficulté du mixage est de rendre cohérent tous les enregistrements avec les différents producteurs.

Obviously the internet to some has become an opportunity to BASH anything and everything, GOOD or BAD. So putting up anything NEW for people to check out is always greeted with equal amounts of crap and kisses. Which was definitely the case when we put up some of the new album artwork for " In search of solid ground". Under normal circumstances, the negative comments would be nothing to pay attention too but this time around, the people spoke and struck really important points to who WE are.

We really went for something "high concept" on this one, which we have done before, but typical the representation of said concept is anything but extravagant. Cue in the new cover ( or should i say, formally the new cover) and what we delivered was something that truly wasn't SAOSIN. And You guys, The fans or foes, Really made us realize something about what we have done and what we are doing. When you spend a long time on something, its really easy to lose track of where you started, and thats probably what happened. I think the most important thing that was said, that made us revise the whole thing (2 days before going to the presses, mind you) is that we always keep things simple, and strong and let the music speak for itself. and thats TRUE. The beetle was weird, ill admit that, but its simple and represented us at the time and i really enjoy the " whats up with that there spider on ya'lls shirts, shits scary" questions. and all of our EPs are a single color boring digipak, for a reason. So with ALL of this said, We put together a new Layout and Cover. It still contains some of the imagery and coincidentally the Main image that is THE COVER was something we shot on the fly, based on an idea i had in my brain.

So below, is the new Cover. Is anyone and everyone going to like it? absolutely not, its not NEON. but we did it as SAOSIN and with thought and purpose and an increasing respect for people that see our band and other bands lives play out on a daily basis. And to us thats all that really counts, and i hope to you guys too. Because at the end of the day, Saosin is a FANS BAND. We are only a band because you guys allow us to be, by spreading the word involuntarily, pushing us to be better and remember where we've come from, coming to shows and supporting this monster for the last 6 years.

hope you guys like the new imagery and oh ya, the actual music on the CD it will come with.

ce titre est horrible. ça fait très AFI.

Moi je l'aime bien, en même temps j'adore AFI.

ouai mais si j'écoutais Saosin , c'est pour écouter du Saosin, pas du AFI ! Sinon je me mets un cd de AFI quoi !
