SIXTEENS
Sixteens is presently Kristen Louise and Veuve Pauli, with the occasional appearance of guest musicians, performance artists, photographers, projectionists. Originally based in San Francisco, in the last two years' energetic concentration they have become an international band with a support base in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, U.K., Poland, Holland, U.S.A., not to mention other countries where they have yet to project.
Born from the rubble of a disabled & jackhammered social nightmare, SIXTEENS, as a musical outfit rising from San Francisco, CA, USA, some time near 1997, have distinguished themselves as not only manipulators of sound, but true coordinators of Art-in-Music. While adhering to an existential & philanthropic viewpoint lyrically, their process of music conduction has predominantly stemmed from a hands-on, stream-of-consciousness approach; evolving into now what is very intentional, and chronically captivating! Whether it be in headphones or on stage, SIXTEENS are a Smart, Dance-Sensation of Pop-Synth-Punk taking you on a world travel.
SIXTEENS have been compared to the likes of Adult., Suicide, Colder, Cabaret Voltaire, Chris & Cosey, The Fall, GoldFrapp, & The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
16S' Self-Produced Debut album in '99 instigates their DIY energy, leading them to other curious indie labels, such as Cochon (SF), GSL (LA), and currently Hungry Eye Records, (from NY to Montreal).
After returning from a 6 month leave to Europe in 2005, SIXTEENS have finished their latest LP release, were invited to perform a West Coast Tour w/ Blixa Bargeld (Einsturzende Neubauten, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) & the illustrious Jarboe.
With two European tours totalling four months, one full US tour, and many East/West US mini-tours, it is undoubtedly in their nature to pop up any where around this world and turn things inside-out !

BATRIDER
"As brutal as they are melodic, and as abhorrent as they are beautiful, Batrider presents wonderfully destructive images, backed by guitars that will slice at your heart, then turn around and pummel the fuck out of it."
Drum Media - Sydney
"With a belly full of acidic insight but a heart full of hopefullness, Batrider's Tara is easily the independent album of the year."
A Fine Line Magazine
"Album of the year. If you wonder why we haven't updated the website anytime over the month, it's because we are spending too much time debating over the tiny details that make Batrider's debut album great. It was extremely difficult to put into intelligent words exactly what we thought of this release without sounding like a 15 year old girl who has just been to an N'Sync concert."
Album Review - 9.5/10 Polariods of Androids
"Paintings of figures so deranged they seem like the syphilitic children of Egon Schiele as depicted by Ralph Steadman"
The Brag, on Batriders own artwork
"The stark, honest lyrics paint a bleak image of depression and isolation. The transparency of the lyrical work of Batrider is one of their strongest characteristics and is ultimately why they are so appealing and believable."
Polariods of Andriods
"The grunge tag gets chucked around with Batrider a lot, but their sound hints particularly at the punkier side of the Flying Nun '80s and '90s. Bands like The Clean and The Verlaines and The 3Ds."
Rave Magazine - Brisbane
"Batrider are way up there on the adopted Kiwis list next to other overacheivers like Crowded House and Rusty Crowe."
Album Review - 8/10 Blunt Magazine - Australia
"New Zealand's Batrider then launched into a relentless barrage of slugdy riffs, their wall of noise only momentarily interrupted by a broken string. The band very nearly blew me away in the literal sense, as well as the metaphorical, particularly on the part of the vocalist who in my estimation possesses one of the best voices in rock today."
