Ma claque de l'été! J'écoute ce 7" plusieurs fois par jours depuis un mois tellement il défonce. The Hollowmen est un groupe des îles canaries. Les 5 espagnols ont sorti une démo intitulée "Three Betrayals Toward Modern Man" il y a un an et ce 7" n'est autre que le repressage sur vinyle. C'est le label Stomp Records (Out crowd, Truth Through Fight, Good Fellaz) qui s'est collé à la tâche. Ca sonne comme Ringworm mixé à In Cold Blood et Cro-Mags.

Mindset c'est LE groupe en vogue chez React! Records. Du youth crew du Maryland qui sonne comme Youth of Today, The First Step, ou Insted avec des lyrics intelligentes et positives. Une des valeur sûre du youth crew actuel. Ce "Collection" LP regroupe leurs deux 7"s "Realpower" et "Time & Pressure". Tous les morceaux ont été remixés par Kevin Bernsten du Developing Nations à Baltimore et remasterisés par Carl Saff à Chicago, ce qui les rend encore plus énergiques qu'avant. Pour ceux qui ne seraient pas familiers avec ce groupe dis-toi que c'est l'un des ( LE?) seul groupe qui a su mêler hardcore métallique et samples hip hop. Ajoutes à ça une signature vocale extraordinaire et tu as un groupe à classer dans le top 10 de ces dix dernières années. "No Omega" sorti à l'origine sur 1917 Records regroupe leur premier 7" sur Walk All Night recs, "Ice Grillz" 7" sur Lockin Out Records et leur split avec War Hungry sur SFU . Pour ce repressage, Six Feet Under records a ajouté leurs deux morceaux du split avec Strength For A Reason, 14 morceaux au total, remasterisés avec un nouvel artwork.

Wolf Whistle - MA Glory
Les choses avancent au ralenti dans le Massachusetts et ce 7" en est la preuve. L'idée a été lancé en 2008 alors que Blacklisted et Have Heart étaient en tournée, et au final ça ne sort qu'aujourd'hui. Wolf Whistle prend ses influences dans Mind Eraser, Infest ou Bracewar et balance un premier 7" de 11 morceaux en à peine 8 minutes. Deux morceaux dispo sur le site de SFU ainsi que leur vidéo "En Attendant Hudon". C'est fait par des mecs de The Rival Mob et Have Heart donc forcément ça tue!

Retour en 1993 avec Slamface qui marque les début du hardcore nantais . 4 potes skateurs ( dont Mehdi Hardcore Trooper records et l'ancien skateur Pro Thibaud Fradin) montent leur premier groupe de hardcore oldschool influencé par le nyhc et la vague 90's. Slamface fera partie du fameux KDS crew ( Right For Life , Stormcore...). "Skate & Hardcore" est leur démo 5 titres de 1995 repressée par Hardcore Trooper records sur vinyle 10" très limité (55ex) et numéroté à la main.

Minus – Demo 2009
2010 a été riche en (nouveaux) groupes de hardcore de qualité et Minus en est une preuve indéniable. C'est fait par des (ex) membres de Downpresser, Violation et Pressvre et ça envoi du lourd. Musicalement pense au groove de Stigmata qui rencontrerait la haine d'Integrity période "Those Who Fear Tomorrow" en écoutant Trapped Under Ice. Minus avait déjà fait un paquet de concerts , une tournée sur tout le territoire américain et un set au Sound And Fury. C'est monsieur Dwid Hellion (Integrity) qui s'est chargé de l'artwork.

C'est bel et bien Flatspot records qui a lancé ces petits groupes qui sont devenus grands : Trapped Under Ice, Backtrack et Minus, ce qui en fait forcément un label de qualité. The Extermination est une compilation qui regroupe 5 morceaux inédits de Backtrack, Soul Search, Suburban Scum, Turnstile et King Nine. Le groove et les breakdowns sont de sortie. "The Way It Is", "Free for All", ou " Where the Wild Things Are", maintenant il faut ajouter "The Extermination" à la liste.

Deal With It / New Morality – Split
Les anglais de Deal With It et les hollandais de New Morality ont fait équipe pour sortir 7". Ceci est le pressage américain. Les deux groupes ont été / sont des poids lourds du hardcore européen. D'un côté le son froid et heavy des rues anglaises balancé par Deal With It à la manière d'un Cro Mags période "Best Wishes" ou d'un Leeway. De l'autre du NYHC groovy comme un "DMS" de Madball en provenance des Pays Bas. New Mortality ont partagé la route avec The Mongoloids ou No Turning Back. L'artwork a été réalisé par Marco de The Icemen.
